Why Cant Give Ivermectin to Collie

ow man, it've been a year and i havent wrote my blog...
ok at this post, ill try to explain why is ivermectin cant give to collie dog

How is that possible, and how its works...?
Ivermectin is a drugs including macrolide avermectin class. This medication is used to eradicate parasites, both ectoparasites (ticks, fleas, ticks, mites, etc.) or endoparasites (worms). Ivermectin works by increasing the release Butiric Gamma Amino Acid (GABA) in the nervous system of insects and worms smooth muscle. GABA function block nerve impulses, resulting in failure of the nervous system to parasites (worms and parasites such as lice become paralyzed).
u can googling for more detail... such as http://goo.gl/6oDFsX

Ivermectin can't be given to several dog such as Collie, Australian sheepdog, Old English Sheepdog, Shetland sheepdog and crossbreeding betweet it. Ivermectin cant be given due to a mutation in the multi-drug-resistance gene (MDR1). The multi-drug-resistance gene (MDR1) encodes a large transmembrane protein, P-glycoprotein (P-gp), that is an integral part of the blood-brain barrier. P-gp functions as a drug-transport pump at the blood-brain barrier, transporting a variety of drugs from the brain back into the blood. You can see the effect of ivermectin now? Ivermectin mutation the gen that have an important funcsion, i can imagine that fungsion chaos caused by ivermectin at several dog. The mutation cause death of dog, so carefull...

Ok thats all
Hope this information usefull for you
